Jerry Boyd, N7WR, has been a licensed amateur for 49 years and active in Amateur Radio emergency communications since 1965. He is a retired Chief of Police, former Chief of a Fire/EMS agency and currently serves as Baker County Oregon's 9-1-1 DIrector, Deputy Director of Emergency Management, and Deputy Chief of the County Fire Authority. He is the author of six books on public safety and emergency communications subjects and the author of over 50 articles in professional and Amateur Radio journals. In addition to Emcomm his Amateur Radio interests include contesting and DXing.
