Propagation
Carl was first licensed in 1961 as WN9AVT. His interests in Amateur Radio include propagation, DXing, contesting, and antennas. His wife is Vicky AE9YL, and they have operated numerous times from ZF (Carl is ZF2LA, Vicky is ZF2YL), from OJ0 Market Reef before attending WRTC2002, from YK9A Syria in February 2001, and from ZA Albania in November 2003 while helping out with Project Goodwill Albania under OH2BH.
Carl’s monthly Propagation column addresses practical and theoretical issues dealing with HF and VHF propagation, including trying to understand some of the more unusual propagation openings.
